KMD Technologies

In 2021, a niche technology company based in Pennsylvania came to WSI Gabs’ consultant Gabor Markus for help boosting its leads. In particular, KMD Technologies, led by Kevin DeGilio, wanted to draw attention to its KMDProjects project management software solution. Kevin wanted to generate leads among project managers and GTC specialists to build interest in the software and attract these ideal customers to product demos. We responded by developing a focused social media marketing campaign, supplemented by an email campaign. The successful result not only pleased the client but also yielded some revealing data that demonstrate the benefits of social selling.

About the client

KMD Technology Solutions was founded to set a new global standard for high-end project management software. Its flagship product, called KMDProjects, is a comprehensive enterprise solution designed to handle the entire project management process from end to end. Although the company has a proven track record, it has occupied a small, dedicated niche since its inception. Knowing that his solutions would have significant appeal outside of its established audience, Kevin wanted to start giving demos of the software to new clients, but he needed a way to reach them.

The project: an exercise in social selling

Approaching the marketing goals of KMD Technology Solutions was a challenge at first. The current website was sparse, and its content was updated irregularly. We needed to boost the website and its content, and devise an effective social media strategy to help reach new clients and attract them to the site. The central pillar of our strategy was a carefully planned and executed LinkedIn marketing plan.

The results

Overall, the project was a success. We were able to expand KMD Technology Solutions’ social network through a concerted LinkedIn content campaign. These lead generation efforts boosted the number of connections and followers on LinkedIn and drew more visitors to the site. The email marketing campaign was also successful. Between October 2021 and May 2022, the number of accepted invites per month rose substantially, corresponding to a rise in the number of invites sent. In October, 83 invites were sent and 10 were accepted. In contrast, 164 invites were sent in April, 45 of which were accepted. This amounts to a 15% increase in the acceptance rate.
